Chicken jalfrezi | Ramadan Recipe | Iftar | Sehri Special | Chicken Curry

Today’s recipe on Sara cooks you is
Chicken Jalfrezi. This is a really versatile dish and it goes really well
with steamed rice, Ghee rice, even fried rice and noodles, and it’s really simple
to make. For this heat about five tablespoons of oil in a wok or a pan and
add 1 finely chopped or coarsely chopped onion doesn’t matter and we’re going to
fry this till it’s just transparent that’ll take about a minute or two and
then I’m going to add 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic and ginger about an inch
grated, let’s fry this for about a minute and the next thing that I’m going to add
is bell peppers (Capsicum) you can use a mix of all the colors or you can use whatever is
available that’s fine. I’ve used yellow orange and green, you can cut them lengthwise
and let’s add about 2 tablespoons of tomato puree, let’s mix this up well. Fry this for about a minute and now I’m
going to add about one and a half teaspoons of curry powder this is easily
available in any of the supermarkets, and about 3/4 teaspoon of chili powder
you can reduce this according to your taste and 1/4 TSP turmeric powder and
about 400 to 500 grams of boneless chicken breast strips. I’ve cut them lengthwise
you can cube it if you like. Let’s mix this up nicely. Boneless chicken cooks
really fast so this dish takes hardly any time to cook and it’s really simple
and easy, add salt to taste and about half a cup of water I’m going to add
about one and a half teaspoons of kasoori methi crushed, this brings out
the flavor of the chicken and it’s very nice. After about five minutes the chicken is
almost ready I’m adding in about one tablespoon of tomato ketchup and another
half a glass of water you can add water according to the consistency you want,
whether it’s a side for fried rice and noodles you can just have it dry or if
you wanted gravy you can add in a little more water and in the end I’m adding two
green chilies slit and some more bell peppers you can add the bell peppers in
the end if you like the crunch or you can omit it. Chicken Jalfrezi is ready I’m going
to transfer it into a serving dish and garnish it with a little bit of chopped
coriander I hope you like this dish because it’s really tasty and very easy
to make. Thank you for watching my video. Please do try this recipe and send me
