This looks really good. Did Gowise fix the problem with the sticking pressure release valve? I was going to purchase a Gowise pressure cooker but didn't because of this problem. I also thought that I read that Gowise is made in China.

Noreen, I have owned, and still do own, several brands of pressure cookers, and I will say that the GoWise is my favorite. That and one other brand that I will not mention out of respect for GoWise. The more expensive brands I had purchased and have since gotten rid of, I had nothing but trouble with them coming to pressure. I have never had that problem with my 8 qt GoWise. Love, love, love it. Oh, and thank you for another fabulous recipe. P.S. I love your Jeremiah 29:11 scripture in the background.

    Hi Noreen,
I am going to be purchasing one of these digital, pressure cookers because I'm going to second shift and that means my teenage daughters will be cooking for Daddy 4 nights a week. (Yikes! LOL) Anyway, I thought a pressure cooker would be good to have. Have you ever used the Instant Pot? Everyone I know that has one loves it and so I thought I'd get that kind, but now I see you have a different model. . . . Any thoughts on how the two compare?

  9. Michigansnowpony says:

OMGosh — just went to the GoWise website via the link you provided. . . . They are WAAAYYY cheaper than the Instant Pot, and what a lovely website. Decisions, decisions. . . . .

Can you do it in the slow cooked because I don't have a pressure cooker

  13. Naomi Anderson says:

Im sorry i cant see using salsa verde. Just as easy to get tomatillos green chilies and jalapenos as it is to buy that jared stuff. Just my opinion.

This looks delicious. I have a stovetop Kuhn Rikon but might give this a whirl in it — will have to experiment with the timing. Looks like the rice and stew combined would also make good leftovers wrapped in tortillas. Hope you feel better soon — get some rest!

Making yogurt in the pressure cooker is wonderful. "Better Done Yourself" gave me instructions that are so easy even I can make Greek yogurt come out perfect. ';D

  21. BloodLace Rose says:

WHAT…. it can't be set from your smart phone? Rip off, hahaha. You know I learn so much from you, I would never have thought to use pork in a stew, (total newb at cooking), if I didn't grow up on certain foods I never really gave it much thought. You make me look at ingredients differently. I am definitely going to try this, thank-you for sharing. Have a great day!!!

I am leaning toward the gowise especially since you are recommending them, however I am concerned about the reviews that people have had problems with the lids sealing and malfunctions of the pressure release button… not a lot of choices if you want a 10 quart, what do you think? It's a large purchase for me and I want to make sure I get a quality product. Love the stew by the way, will have to try it once I choose one! πŸ™‚

Cleaning the Gowise is SO much easier than ips or other Electric Pressure Cooker. I love mine.

  24. Shannon Collins says:

Making yogurt is delicious so much better when you make it your self. But I will say I make mine in a slow cooker I do strain mine to make Greek yogurt. When my husband broke his ankle last year I made him yogurt and he ate it every day. The surgeon was surprised on how fast his ankle healed and the orthopedic surgeon is suggesting his patients to eat yogurt. Looking forward to pressure cooker yogurt 😁 thank you so much

I have an electric pressure cooker. Cooks essential. Works good so far. Knock on wood. My mom had the old fashion pressure cooker that you put on the stove. She said long time ago it exploded. What a mess she had. Looks good.
